Announcement of Moratorium on New Land Development

This implementation of moratorium is in strict accordance with recent developments in Indonesia in relation to the national forest conservation agenda, and including the national moratorium announced on new concessions. We will actively engage with the Company’s stakeholders in consultation sessions, which include local and national government, employees, business partners and the local communities at the operational area. The feedback and findings from these sessions will subsequently aid in reviewing the current sustainability policies, and in validating the result of HCV and HCS studies prior to its implementation in our concessions.

PT. Papua Agro Lestari has been always and will be committed to sustainable palm oil production, including reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. We are committed to ensure that our palm oil products are produced in an environmentally-sustainable and socially-responsible manner. Most importantly, we are taking our best efforts to make positive impacts by improving stakeholders’ livelihoods, respecting traditional cultures and ensuring national and global supply of high quality palm oil.

We hereby officially inform that PT. Papua Agro Lestari has declared an immediate moratorium on new land development related to the Company’s palm oil operation in Indonesia. This moratorium will be implemented in undeveloped concessions under PT. Papua Agro Lestari, which is about 36,000 ha until we finalize High Conservation Value (HCV) and High Carbon Stock (HCS) studies and reflect them to future plantation development.
